Meet Abi & Nioka, our new Outreach Support Officers!
Last month, Tamworth Community College and Department of Education Senior Officer, Rachelle West, celebrated the appointment of two new Outreach Support Officers (OSO's) - Abi and Nioka.
The Outreach Support Officer's role is to identify and engage with members of the community who are experiencing disadvantage, or other social or economic challenges. OSO's work with individuals to identify their learning, employability, skill development and training needs, connect them with opportunities offered by Tamworth Community College and support them to make progress, complete their studies and explore the next steps of their learning journey.
CEO, Jade Vermeer, kicked off the second week with our OSO’s by visiting a local high school where they discussed how Adult and Community Education (ACE) can support exiting school students to transition and access lifelong learning.
Abi and Nioka followed this by a visit and warm welcome from the ACE Team.
