We are incredibly proud that Tahnee, one of our inspiring students at Tamworth Community College, has been awarded an Adult Learning Australia Scholarship to continue her learning journey!
“I had the pleasure of watching the ALW2024 launch with the TCC team, and it was an absolutely inspiring event! The stories shared were a powerful testament to the impact of adult and community education, and we couldn’t be prouder to be part of this sector.
What made the event even more special was sharing the moment with Tahnee when she was announced as one of the scholarship winners. Watching her journey recognised in such a meaningful way was a highlight for all of us, “ said CEO, Jade Vermeer.
Tahnee’s journey in community education is nothing short of remarkable. Just two weeks into her Certificate III in Business, Tahnee faced a life-altering challenge when she suffered a stroke. However, her determination and resilience shone through as she only missed one week of study, so she immediately arranged a catch-up session with her Trainer.
Despite ongoing challenges, Tahnee completed her qualification alongside her classmates and went on to further her skills with additional short courses. Her hard work has truly paid off, as Tahnee has now secured a new job she really wanted as ‘Front of House’ for a busy motel. In her new role, she’s putting her business skills and knowledge to great use and applying her RSA and espresso coffee service skills.
This opportunity is a testament to her commitment to her education at TCC which has given her a renewed sense of purpose and confidence, empowering her to strive for more both for herself and as a role model for her daughter.
Tahnee’s story is a powerful reminder of the transformative impact that adult learning can have, no matter your age or stage in life.
We are so proud to have supported Tahnee on her inspiring journey, and we look forward to seeing all the incredible things she will achieve in the future. This scholarship is a well-deserved recognition of her hard work and dedication.
Congratulations again, Tahnee; you truly embodied the spirit of lifelong learning!
